Two Layouts for 365+1

Gingerscraps - Scrap Your Life

DSD by Athena - Elegance
I'm hoping to move on from the Olympics soon, but took loads of photos of the closing ceremony so there may still be a few to come!  I didn't see any exhausted athletes last night, so chose one of Jessica Ennis at the end of her race.

The second layout is the last medal awarded for the men's marathon , I loved the flags lined up behind them , all the medals are represented here, even though the prompt is Silver.

Tree - 365+1

Connie Prince - Spring is my Thing
I took this photograph on Saturday night when we had this amazing rainbow.  I wanted to scrap it so have used the 'tree' prompt...well there is a tree in it!  It's strange but I didn't use the tree prompt last time either, although I am surrounded by them!

Plants - 365+1

Template: By Sine SOWays 03, Gingerscraps - Scrap your Life, Ellie Lash - Flower Shop
Looking back over the posts so far this month, I see that I am a little obsessed with Spring!  Maybe it is because I live in Scotland and it takes much longer for spring to come here. Also out in the country, where there is less shelter, the daffodils have only started to flower this week.  More of a traditional layout for today, using a template.

Many thanks for all the kind comments I have received recently, I really do appreciate them.

Extraordinary Leap Day Experience - 365+1

Hey it was plus one day yesterday, that extra and extraordinary day for Leap Year.  I was lucky enough to be invited to La Tasca, Tapas Bar in Renfield Street, Glasgow.  There will be a full review on my blog very soon but in the meantime I am using this photo of the Sangria making lesson as my photo for 29th February 2012.

365+1 - Wheel

Gingerscraps - Scrap Your Life
We are getting some big drainage pipes put in the burn (stream) in one of our fields, the guy who brought them has left his huge tractor in our yard for a couple of days and I nipped out to get a photo of the wheel which is much more impressive than the ones on our tractors!

It's the last day of the month and I've managed to keep up with the photos and scrapping them.  Let's see what next month brings!

365+1 - Kitchen Utensil

Studio Sherrie JD - Kitschy Kitchen, Connie Prince - Spring is my Thing
I've no idea how old this spoon must be, I've had it for 27 years and it looked just the same then, so I can only imagine it is about 50 or 60 years old at least!

365+1 - Fluffy

Gingerscraps - scrap your life, Connie Prince - Spring is my thing
I've been out all day today at a spa day, so not much time to take photos.  I took the little Nikon camera with me rather than my DSLR and when I downloaded the pics, I found this one. An early morning cloud shot, full of fluffy clouds.

365+1 - Nature, red in tooth and claw!

Gingerscraps - Scrap Your Life and various from Digital Crea
Look away if you are fond of bunny rabbits!  Suzie has given us a free choice for today's prompt so I thought I'd share this photo I took last Saturday, we got a bit of video footage of it as well which you can see on YouTube here.  In the end the post van arrived and the poor little stoat ran off and never came back.  It was fascinating to see this shy creature so close up!

365+1 - Glowing

Gingerscraps: Scrap your Life, Tangie Baxter: Zingers, Scrap Shana: Tis the Season

Today's prompt for Suzie's 365+1 is 'Glowing'.  The sun came out today although there was a bitterly cold NE wind blowing, it shone through the kitchen window onto the red bracts of the Poinsettia which is still thriving there.  I thought they looked like they were glowing.

365+1 - Fire

Gingerscraps: 1. Scrap your Life, 2: Julie Marie, Bailey
Our house is pretty old, the top storey was put on the house in 1901, we can be sure of that because we have the original plans.  At that time two lovely Edwardian fireplaces were installed with marble mantelpieces. This is the white one in our upstairs living room, there is a black marble mantel and tiled fireplace in our bedroom.  We had the gas stove fitted into the original fireplace nearly 20 years ago and managed to maintain the original fittings.

365+1 - Snack

Gingerscraps: Scrap Your Life, Connie Prince-Spring is my Thing

Despite the fact that I often show you calorific cakes and desserts, during the week I always snack on fruit - honest!

365+1 - Generosity

Kit: Gingerscraps - scrap your life
This was a challenging prompt,  I thought about showing the pile of stuff I have ready for the charity shop or the envelope we are sending off an old mobile phone in but somehow that seemed rather unexciting.  So when I saw our friends arrive to have another go at cutting up the beech tree which had come down with the strong winds, I thought it would make an ideal subject.  We don't have any wood burning stoves so have given them the wood.  In return they are cutting it up and getting it off our field. So Generosity on both sides and mutual benefit.

Interesting how many men it takes to watch a young lad chop up a log, isn't it?

365+1 - In my fridge

Kits Gingerscraps - Scrap your Life and Julie Marie's - Bailey

This is a strange one today!  Suzie wants to see what is in our fridges, and because my husband works for a cheese company we always have cheese!

365+1 - Translucent

Gingerscraps - Scrap your Life, Designs by Athena - Basics
Suzie asked us to show her something translucent today, this is the light at the top of our stairs and I am really pleased at the way the photograph turned out!

365+1 - Mettalic

Kit - Gingerscraps, Scrap your life
Day 10 in the 365+1 Challenge over at Suzie's blog, the prompt is metallic and I'm featuring two little pewter fish which are really chop stick rests and were a gift from my SIL when she was teaching in Malaysia.

365+1 - Drink

Kit: Giungerscraps, Scrap your Life
I had to raid the drinks cupboard for this photograph, just a small selection of our spirits: Tia Maria, Glen Moray Malt Whisky, Gordon's Sloe Gin, Cherry Brandy and a full bottle of Amaretto. There was also bottle of Russian Standard Vodka, another bottle of malt whisky and a couple of bottles of sherry left in there.  This does rather make it seem that I'm some kind of serious drinker, but they are all there because we mostly drink wine and rarely have spirits.  I do like to have a nice selection of liquers though and they often end up in puddings or baking.
