Black and White Family Portrait - 365+1

Cafe Vienna - Inspiration Lane Collab
I really didn't know how I was going to do a 'family portrait' today, but then remembered the photo of me with my sister-in-law (on the right) which I had scanned for a blog post about Street Food on Farmersgirl Kitchen    The photo was in colour, but the colours are fading, so ideal to be converted to black and white.  It was in 1983 that Brian and I went to visit his sister, who was teaching in Malaysia and one of the first experiences we had was to visit this satay stall set up in under canvas in the street.

Feet - 365+1

Inspiration Lane - Collab

This is only one photo which I have duplicated and flipped to make two feet and I'm sharing it with you because I had just had a pedicure, so my feet were looking at their best!

Shadows - 365+1

So Inspired - Inspiration Lane
It's pouring with rain outside, the living room is not very tidy.  So when I looked to see today's prompt and it was shadow, I looked around and couldn't see anything interesting to photograph.  Then I remembered 'Shadows and Light' the fabulous live album from Joni Mitchell.  I bought this on vinyl when it came out in 1980 and replaced it on CD when records were no longer popular.  My husband bought a new record deck a couple of years ago and every now and then we have an evening reliving our vinyl days!

It's not my favourite Joni Mitchell, that honour goes to 'Miles of Ailes' another live album.  I've seen Joni Mitchell live only once.  Her music is complex, jazzy and interesting, her lyrics are poetry.  Can you tell I'm a fan?

Cookie Dough Truffles - Free Choice 365+1

Cafe Vienna - Inspiration Lane
I'll be blogging about these Cookie Dough Truffles at Farmersgirl Kitchen over the weekend, but as it was free choice I thought I'd put them in a layout.  They certainly got a good reception at both my work and my husband's work. I've used probably my favourite ever digi kit:  Cafe Vienna, it was a collaborative kit at, the now defunct, Inspiration Lane.

Sizzling Colours for 365+1

So Inspired Collab from Inspiration Lane
It is a little warmer today, but certainly not 'Sizzling', but I took this photo of my mesembryanthemums (Livingstone Daisies) yesterday when they opened their little faces to the sun.  The colours are bright and definitely sizzling!

Every now and then I try to take part in the Daring Card Makers dare, this week the theme was Kitchenalia so, given my love of all things kitchen, I  thought this week would be a good week to make a card!

Appleby- in- Westmoreland: St Anne's Alms House

I've been away on a little mini-break with my DH to Appleby-in-Westmoreland.  We stayed at a lovely country house hotel and I also took quite a few photographs.  Here is the first digital layout I took of an Alms House in Appleby which has been converted to cottages, I loved the arch and the little fountain behind it.

Patchwork quilt and a cat!

Over at Inspiration Lane there was a challenge to choose something from the 'Pottery Barn' and base a layout on the item.  I chose this beautiful heritage log-cabin quilt and below is my layout, which includes a photo of us with our friends from California when they visited us in Scotland.

I've used this photo of Jenny the cat before, but no apologies for that, taken a few months before she died, it was the last time she really looked well enough for photographs.  The kit is Alter Me by Joyful Heart Designs, the stitching I've also used before and comes from 'Neutrality' from DSD by Athena.  This layout is for a numbers challenge at Inspiration Lane, where a certain number of papers, elements, photos etc are specified.

At last a blog post!

You may have noticed that something strange has happened to my blog...I've had to revert back to the Classic  MinimaTemplate because all the new Blogger Templates are picking up on a photobucket background that has been withdrawn, leaving me with photobucket tiles all over my blog!  I've removed the background from my 'gadget' list but it presists in the new templates.  Anyone who has any ideas as to how I can 'clean up'?

I have not been completely idle since my last post on the 4th September, work is very busy just now and I am still without my paper crafting supplies as we await our very good, but very busy joiner/carpenter who will make the storage and work area for me.  So it's all digital creations again.

These two layouts are made using the You & Me (will always be) Kit which is on sale at Inspiration Lane Boutique for only $0.48!

Harvest

I took this photograph last week when I was visiting my Mum on the east coast of Scotland.  It was a glorious day and the wheat looks like it is ready to harvest.  The digi kit is Cafe Vienna from Inspiration Lane.
