The View - May 2013

So here we are at the beginning of May and time to show off our 'views'.  I know that some parts of the country are enjoying a warm and sunny Bank Holiday Monday, but here it is cold, grey with a cold wind that cuts right through you.  I think things have got rather mixed up this year, either that or there is something seriously wrong with this poem!

March brings breezes loud and shrill,
stirs the dancing daffodil.

April brings the primrose sweet,
scatters daisies at our feet.

May brings flocks of pretty lambs,
skipping by their fleecy dams.

June brings tulips, lilies, roses,
fills the children's hand with posies.

In March I brought you 'flocks of pretty lambs, skipping by their fleecy dams', I did manage to find a 'primrose sweet' for April but they are even better now.

It's taken until May before I had enough dancing daffodils open and they are sparser than usual too.

And I see that we are expected to have tulips in June, when they are already open!

Let's hope we can manage some lilies and roses for June and get back on track.

I'm going to have a busy week as I am away for work, so I'll post the view from my kitchen window while I'm here, same view different angle!  By next month there should be more plants growing.

Spring - Winter -Spring

To visit other Daybook entries, click on the picture above.

FOR TODAY - Monday 15th March
Outside my window... two van loads of builders and roofers, fixing our roof but at starting at 7.30am :o
I am thinking...that I need to make more effort to get some exercise, I feel stiff and unfit.
I am thankful for...the longer, lighter nights
From the kitchen...Spinach & ricotta canneloni
I am wearing...my yoga pants because I have just done some yoga (see thoughts above!)
I am creating...a basket to decorate my home for Easter.
I am going...to Ayr tomorrow for a meeting.
I am reading... Key Lime Pie Murder by Joanne Fluke (am I obsessed by food? lol!)
I am hoping...that everything goes well with the office move on Thursday and Friday
I am hearing...DH emptying the dishwasher
Around the house...Lots of disruption, things in boxes waiting for the joiner to arrive and refurbish the kitchen.
One of my favorite things...cookery programmes on tv - I'm watching Raymond Blanc eating watercress! Yes, I am obsessed by food and cooking.
A few plans for the rest of the week... lots of travelling this week, the big move at the end of the week, my mum's birthday on Thursday.

Here is picture thought I am sharing:

I love tulips. I bought this bunch for my MIL for Mothers Day, the glorious colours of tulips seem to tell of the warmth of Spring more than daffodils which come out when it is still cold.

...and now a little WINTER, a snowman card for the March challenge in the Bubbly Funk, 25th Club, where we make Christmas cards all year!

The stamped image came from a swap, I coloured with copics, I think the paper was from an RAK from Kathy Black (a long, long time ago!) and three little green brads.

...and back to Spring again.
