The View - May 2013

So here we are at the beginning of May and time to show off our 'views'.  I know that some parts of the country are enjoying a warm and sunny Bank Holiday Monday, but here it is cold, grey with a cold wind that cuts right through you.  I think things have got rather mixed up this year, either that or there is something seriously wrong with this poem!

March brings breezes loud and shrill,
stirs the dancing daffodil.

April brings the primrose sweet,
scatters daisies at our feet.

May brings flocks of pretty lambs,
skipping by their fleecy dams.

June brings tulips, lilies, roses,
fills the children's hand with posies.

In March I brought you 'flocks of pretty lambs, skipping by their fleecy dams', I did manage to find a 'primrose sweet' for April but they are even better now.

It's taken until May before I had enough dancing daffodils open and they are sparser than usual too.

And I see that we are expected to have tulips in June, when they are already open!

Let's hope we can manage some lilies and roses for June and get back on track.

I'm going to have a busy week as I am away for work, so I'll post the view from my kitchen window while I'm here, same view different angle!  By next month there should be more plants growing.

  1. Oh I am so sorry you are still not having great weather :( What a nightmare non-event spring has been!

Lovely photos and thanks so much for joining in :) xxx

  2. The fields are so green around your house. Beautiful lamb, I wouldn't mind bringing him back home ! xx

  3. Fingers crossed there will be more flowers next time Janice. I love those red tulips though - very cheerful.

  4. Beautiful views Janice. I love the lamb and the primroses. I've got to find mine when I get home.

  5. I love all of your pictures. The lamb is sweet. I'm sorry you are still having ugly weather. Hopefully that will soon change.

  6. Janice your blog was so funny, but you are quite right the poem is totally wrong but I had never noticed til you pointed it out!!

I cannot post my normal view as we are away in Brittany but will blog some views from this week at the end of the week! Not home for another 10days, having a lovely restful time!!!

  7. love to see the lambs....lovely photos
