Another wet and blustery day here, I've spent most of the time in the kitchen, although I did manage to do a little bit of sewing this afternoon. 

I've chosen my husband's cacti as the thing I want to change, I really don't like cacti and I'd love to have the window sill at the top of the stairs back for my own purposes!  However,  I think it is unlikely that this will happen, I've gradually eased the cacti out of all the other rooms and they are restricted to this trough on one window sill.  Maybe one day! The Kit is Desert Flower from Designs by Mozz.

It's been another lovely day today, we had a white frost first thing, but the sun came out and it was really very warm as long as you were in the sun.  I used one of the field gates as my natural frame.

I'm having a nice day at home, the weather isn't great so inside is the best place to be.  I took the photo two weekends ago when we had some sunshine and my tubs were looking good.

Two or three times a week I travel by train for my work.  When I saw the prompt for motorised I thought about the train.  They make us stand on the platform until they have finished putting up the seat reservations and had their break, so I had a few minutes to take a photo of the TransPennine train tonight. It's a diesel so it is motorised.

I think I've finally flipped!  The whole Rebecca Rag Doll 'same but different' prompt is a lot of fun.  But I found myself rushing home from work, redressing Rebecca in her genuine 1970s cord trousersuit and taking her outside to take photos next to my flower tubs!  More madness from the 365+1ers on Suzie's blog

My herbs have really come on in the past week or so.  The rain and then the warmer, slightly muggy air seems to suit them and they are flourishing.  Some of my herb pots sit on a sandstone shelf, and you can't get much more earthy than a clay pot, made from ...earth!

I love the grungy look, I chose a photograph of an old Lister two stroke engine which we had on the farm for  many years but sold on to someone who would renovate it and return it to it's former glory.  The layout was inspired by a layout by Emy Buxton in Scrap 365, May 2012.

Kathy's Sketch File - In the Round

Here is my entry for Kathy's Waffle Sketch File August Challenge, In the Round.

 

Here is the sketch that Kathy created for the August challenge. Although Kathy is a card maker, the sketches can also be used for scrapbook pages whether paper or digital.  

I decided to combine the sketch with the latest kit from Designs by Mozz: Desert Flower 

My Mum took this photo in June this year a few days before our 30th Wedding Anniversary, we are standing outside the hotel where we held our wedding reception.  The colours in the photo were perfect for Maree's kit and the sketch creates the perfect frame.

Three is a magic number

Or so they sing on the telly!  I made this layout for a challenge on Digital Design Den.  It's a photo shoot challenge and the theme was 'in threes'.  I found these three deep pink tulips as my focus.

I used another of the Floweration Templates from Designs by Mozz, available at the Den and a Kit by Coppercurls Designs called Botanica, which has just the right colour tone.  The only other element is the wicker frame which is from a kit by Goldensun called Enchanted Land.
