It's time for the Febraury Artful Bag Challenge! at Frosted Petunias Blog
Our second theme is Alter It. The objective is to take any object that is NOT a bag and turn it into one. Boxes, pudding cups, bottles, mint tins, plaques...anything you can think of. The finished product can be decorative or functional but should clearly look like a bag.
I had a look around to see what I could find to alter and came across a few egg boxes. I left the bottom of the box as it was so the origin of my little box bag was obvious.
I put a little 'jewel' on the 'clasp'
I painted it with Gesso then Dylusions acrylic paints and sprayed with Dylusions Ink sprays.
When I had finished painting I realised that it reminded me of the colours of a Monet Water Lily painting (a style I like very much), so I added the large flowers to represent the waterlilies and a variety of beads for the handle.
Lovely bit of upcycling, you'd never know it was an eggbox from the first photo!
ReplyDeleteLovely ~ It does remind me of Monet too! You're so clever :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! My daughter would love this. ;)
ReplyDeletewow... this is so creative... and i love the painting you did on it.... does look like Monet lol...
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever and adorable lttle purse! I love that you left the bottom 'as is' to show that it's an egg carton. The colors are so reminiscent of Monet's Water Lilies that I'd never guess you didn't intend it to be that way from the start. The flower is the perfect touch and so is the little jewel. Love it! Thank you so much for sharing and playing along this month.
