It's official!
Yes, I'm afraid I have finally become a fully committed card maker! I've started making my Christmas cards in October, I know there are some people who start even earlier but these are for personal use, so I think the end of October is quite early enough. The Holly card above is made using the stamp I won in the Think Pink Auction (thanks, Gez) it is a huge stamp, so you don't need much more on your card. stamped it on watercolour paper and 'painted' it with watercolour pencils. There is a little bit of glossy accents on the berries, but it didn't come out very well in the picture.Tuesday, 7 October 2008
Last gasp Think Pink
The Think Pink sale is drawing near and all donations of crafts need to be with Di before next Tuesday, so I needed to get a move on and try to finish off some of the challenges.
This is my altered gift bag, I used the Kirsty Wiseman free download papers generously gifted to Bubbly Funk, the colours went well with the pinky brown bag.
This is an oddball card that doesn't have any mates. I made it on the same principal as Kathy's Speedy Cards (1) but instead of baubles I used the Poinsettia template that came with this month's PaperCraft Inspirations.
Shock, horror, drama - I actually did an Art Journal Journey card! We had been talking about various transfer techniques on BF and there were some instructions in the Altered Art book I got for my birthday. This is a 'packing tape' transfer, except that I didn't have any packing tape so I used ordinary sellotape and a picture from a magazine. The picture transfers to the tape but is still slightly transparent. I'm going to try and get some wider tape so I can do more of this.

BF Cybercrop - Altered clipboard
Kaz's class was to alter a clipboard. I had to make a few alterations including hand cutting my scalloped edge and punching it with the crop-o-dile and threading some ribbon through. The papers are Wild Saffron from the August Bubbly Funk Kit.Sunday, 21 September 2008
Think Pink Cyber Crop
Last time we had a cyber crop at Bubbly Funk Forum, I only managed to make one thing. But I seem to have been a bit more productive this time.
Kathy gave us a 'recipe' for making speedy cards, using a simple two paper technique for mass production. I thought it was going to be a repeat of last year as this first card took me about an hour and a half to make!
However, once I had all the little circles cut out and started to play around with the bits and pieces, I got on a roll and managed to make another four cards in this theme.
Joanne challenged us to make a collage stamped tag. I've always wanted to try this technique and not quite got roudn to it. I chose the Elusive Images Indian set of stamps and added some extra colour with coloured pencils.
Suzie told us about Dotee Dolls a couple of weeks ago and now has shared the secrets, so we can all make them. They are really simple to make and I enjoyed this very much. I thought my doll looked like a bit of a floozy, TracyR suggested that she looked like Mrs Slocombe from 'Are you being served'. I'm going to have to make her a boyfriend now, because I'm not going to make her 'pussy' hee hee hee.

DCM Template and a bit of Blue and Brown
This is my card for the Daring Card Makers Dare this week. It was a lovely simple little template just asking to be made into a card. I used the free stamp from Craft Stamper to make the background paper and the other lovely paper is the K & Co paper from the BubblyFunk August Kit, some of the flowers came from the BF Think Pink kit and some from the August Kit. None of my ribbons went with the grunged up look I was trying to achieve, so I had a rummage and found this yellow stringy stuff, I grunged it a bit with an ink pad and frayed the ends.
The DCM card will be going to the Think Pink Sale as well as this card for the TP Blue and Brown challenge. The background was stamped with one of the Elusive images heart stamps and Versamark, then I used some of the paper from the BF August Kit and covered a chipboard heart with the blue spotty felt from the BF Think Pink Kit. Yes, I've gone KIT CRAZY.Saturday, 30 August 2008
Another notebook and Art Journal Card
I covered another notebook for the Think Pink sale and borrowed an idea from Gez over on Bubbly Funk Forum, she covered the chipboard 'ribbon' with paper, but I thought I would try it with fabric and I'm very pleased with the result. The button is ceramic, I only had one left and itThursday, 28 August 2008
DCM & Think Pink Challenges
DCM
OK, this week it's Tanya's turn to set the dare and this time it's a dare with a POINT! A nice sharp point, at that!
This Way!
I want to see arrows on your cards - whether big, small, staright, curly, lots or just one arrow

I managed to combine this with the Think Pink numbers challenge, I have to acknowledge Kathy Black for the idea for this card. It is based on the card she did for one of the Bubbly Funk Kits and for those of us who subscribe, there is the Bubbly Scrumptious blog with lots of inspiration on it. I wanted to use the ribbon which came in the kit - as it has arrows on it - and when I saw Kathy's card I knew that I had to use it for inspiration.
This is another Think Pink numbers card. I used Carol Ann's Studio CD 'Handyman' for the papers and decoupage. The number is shrink plastic which I painted with acrylic paint before shrinking.
I volunteered to make some name badges for the think pink helpers, including pink in the men's badges was considered a challenge, but I really enjoyed it. I am sure they are man enough to wear a bit of pink.

A little bird told me...
I am in infrequent visitor to Splitcoast Stampers Forum, but I saw Angelnorth was running the Crafty Secrets challenge over there, so it though it would be rude not to join in. The theme was ORANGE. I used the Crafty Secrets bird notes stamp I got from Joanne in an RAK. The background is a Cornish Heritage Farms stamp called Cracked Montana Earth, one of the stamps I got my American visitors to bring over for me. I'll be putting this one into the Think Pink sale, even though it isn't one of the challenges.Monday, 18 August 2008
Think Pink - Tartology
Last week's Think Pink challenge on Bubbly Funk was to 'tart' up a notebook. This was a good excuse to play with my bookbinding glue. The little notebook with the single flower is covered in fabric. The larger reporters book is paper covered.

Think Pink - Multifold cards
It's think pink time again. This time we have been challenged to create multi-fold cards. I decided I should use my cuttlebug more, so I created this little gatefold card with an inked cuttlebug embossed topper and inside some rainbow card embossed with the Happy Birthday folder.

This card is a tri-fold and I thought this time I would do a 'man' card! I got the two stamps from a swap on Crafts by Carolyn Forum ages ago, so I'm afraid I can't tell you what they are. I used watercolour crayons to creat the rainbow effect and then covered them with UTEE to get a glossy effect. This had the added bonus of makign the card curl a little at the edges giving it even more of a vintage effect. Paper is Basic Grey - Sublime and buttons were from the Think Pink Brown and Blue Kit, from Bubbly Funk.Saturday, 2 August 2008
Think Pink - Any Occasion in Black and Pink and Gift tags
It's Think Pink time again. I've been a bit slow getting these finished, so there are two challenges to post instead of one. If you don't know what Think Pink is by now, click on the logo in the left side bar of my blog to go to the Think Pink Blog.
Karen challenged us to make 6 Christmas Gift Tags. I was really quite pleased with these, they were an idea that kept me awake at night! I got the template for the parcel from Cuddly Buddly and the paper is Dovecraft Christmas Blues on Silver mirror card. I punched two holes in the card 'ribbon' and threaded through the real ribbon.Monday, 21 July 2008
Think Pink - Goodbye and Good Cluck
DCM - Journalling Spot
The DCM Dare this week was to use a 'journalling spot' like those you use in scrapbooking. I have combined this with one of the cards I made for the Think Pink Challenge over at Bubbly Funk.Sunday, 13 July 2008
