Men!

The Something Completely Different challenge this month is to make 'thrinchies' (three inch squares) and the theme this week is Men. I rummaged around in my stamps to see what kind of 'men' I had in there and came across this one which I got in a charity stamp mixed bag. My brain worked something like this: Men...bicycle = that old 70s women's lib adage "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle"

I did go through a bit of a women's lib phase e.g. reading Spare Rib and wearing dungarees (only because they were fashionable) but I never was able to give up men!

Mad March Hare in February!

It's been a while since I took part in the Something Completely Different challenges, but I couldn't resist this one. I've never really got into ATCs but as that is the format for this challenge that's what I have created. I particularly like the original Tenniel drawings for Alice in Wonderland, so it had to feature one of those.

Here is what the SCD team said about their challenge:

ATCs
(just in case peeps don't know, ATC's are pieces of art sized 2.5"x 3.5" they are never sold only traded!)

Most people love them, that is until they hear about my challenge subject this week......

The background was created with Ranger Distress Inks in Peeled Paint and Milled Lavender. Text stamp from Wild Asparagus Stamps by My Mind's Eye.
The lettering is stamped with Studio G Clear Stamps.

Something Completely Different - Postcard, Faces

I haven't been keeping up the the 'Something Completely Different' challenges due to holidays and general laziness lol! However, I like the idea of the new theme of Postcards, below are details of the challenge:

"POSTCARDS"
size 6" x 4"
any colour any style unless stipulated by the weekly theme
can be used either way, 6x4 or 4x6

So, the theme to kick us off this month is:-"FACES"

I used paper scraps and a peeled paint Distress Inkpad to create a collage background. Then stamped the Comedy and Tragedy Masks (from Dimension Fourth) as my Faces. The flower stamps came from the US as a gift so not quite sure what they are, but to me, flowers also have faces. The flowers are coloured with Sakura pens. As it was a postcard, I wanted to include a stamp, so you get the Queen's face as well!
