The Simple Woman's Day book

FOR TODAY TUESDAY 4TH MAY

Outside my window...the calves are settling into living outside in the fields.
I am thinking...about going to the florists tomorrow to organise the corsages for the wedding.
I am thankful for...my two new bar stools for my kitchen
From the kitchen...still eating Rhubarb Muffins
I am wearing..
.same old, same old cords and wooly sweater - when is it going to warm up?
I am creating...not a lot at the moment
I am going...to another party at the weekend, these things seem to come along together
I am reading...Craft Stamper
I am hoping...to sleep better tonight
I am hearing...the television
Around the house...my DH thinks my 'reed diffuser' smells like fly spray!!!! It's supposed to be 'unwind' and smells of lavender.
One of my favorite things...sharing my photographs on my blogs
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Here is picture for thought I am sharing..

I took some 'arty' shots of the slates when we were getting the roof done.

Out to grass!

Time for the calves to go out for the summer, they get very excited when they see the big field in front of them and go a bit mad.

Their tails go up and they all set off across the field.

Some of them even fly!

Then they come racing back up to the gate again.

Mosaic Monday - Kitchen Diary

I thought it would be fun to put all the pictures from the Kitchen Refit into a Mosaic for Mosaic Monday!  You can find Mosaic Maker here and Little Red House Mosaic Monday here

Bride to be!

Yesterday evening, I was out in town for my daughter-in-law-to-be's 'Hen Night', a gathering of girlfriends and family to toast the bride to be.  It was a fairly low key affair involving a few glasses of wine and a meal out, nothing too raucous, but it was fun and a good way to get to know more of Shona's family.
Photo above is Shona and her sister, and chief bridesmaid, Melissa.  Photo below is of the 'Mothers'. Me and Shona's mum (also called Shona!)

Wedding Horseshoe

I'm entering this for this month's Tando Creative competition.  This is the horseshoe that I am making for my son and future daughter-in-law's wedding in a couple of weeks.  There is a 'book' for it to go in, but that is not yet finished, but  I thought I'd post this for the competition. Flowers are by Wild Orchid.

Red Leather Seats

Join Alicia for Friday Photo Flashback at More than Words.

This is a photo of my Dad's Rover. I think it is a Rover 500, it wasn't his first car but it is probably the first one that I really remember.   It was black and absolutely solid and had beautiful red leather seats.  It is parked in the backyard of the house that my mum still lives in. Although there have been a few changes to the garage, and there are paving blocks rather than gravel on the ground, it is still very recognisable. We moved to this house in 1965, so it is probably around that time.
