Those of you who visit my blog regularly may have noticed a decided slowing down in the number of crafty posts. This is because we dismantled our living room last September, decorated, bought a new sofa and then the joiner was supposed to arrive and build some new units for Mr Serial Crafter's stereo system/telly/12" vinyl collection AND on the other wall a customised craft area for me.
Unfortunately, quite a few things got in the way of this happening, mainly to our joiner. However, he finally started work in the middle of February, with a lot of measuring up, getting the materials and making up the units in his workshop. Last week he actually started fitting them into the room so I thought I would give you a bit of a peek at how it is progressing.
This is the wall where the TV and all the stereo equipment will be housed. Our temporary TV table is the one I used to use to craft.
The wall to the left (with the door) is where my craft storage and workbench will go.
This is what has happened this week, the carcasses of the units are in place, Mr Serial Crafter put one of his speakers in it's place to see what it would look like. You can see where the computers live on the right.
This is the craft wall, the bit in the middle will have shallow shelves at the top and the work bench across it.
Here is a corner view showing how the two walls fit together. I am hoping that by next weekend I will be able to start putting my stash away on the shelves which will go in the carcasses. They all have to be finished off on the edges too.
Oooh, starting to see how it will shape up - it's going to be fab! Hope there are no more hold ups!
ReplyDeleteWow what a great room this will be when it is finished Janice. I would never want to leave it.

How super to have a custom built craft area, lucky you. Bet you can't wait to get it finished and start playing.
