We had some late afternoon sun and I nipped up the road when I got home from work to see if there were any blackberries to photograph.  There were, but they seem to be very late to ripen this year with the terrible weather we have had.  Last night, we had gale force winds and torrential rain, hard to believe when you see the sun shining on this thistle head which has already spread it's fluffy seed heads.

Here is my Matched Pair,  they are a pair of vases that sit either side of our Edwardian tiled fireplace.  Unfortunately, one of them has a piece broken off the top at the back.

I visited Stirling Castle at the weekend and took this picture of the Wallace Monument.  William Wallace was and is a Scottish Hero.

Past Its' Prime - 365+1

I had plenty of choice for 'Past its Prime'.  But I chose our old caravan, it belonged to my parents and they gave it to us when they upgrade to one with heating and a shower!  We used it for a few years for holidays, but it was getting elderly and as we started to venture further afield with the boys, it found a resting place in the yard and became a sort of loft!  Every now and then I go through the things that are in there and send some to the charity shop and some to the landfill.  It's still watertight and somehow we never really get it emptied.

I am forever grateful to the caravan for storing the best of my boys toys and books.  I am gradually introducing my grandson to the large collection of Duplo, there is a Brio Railway and when he is older, boxes of lego and Playmobil and his Dad's Thomas the Tank Engine railway.  Without the caravan I wouldn't have had space to store these.

So it may be rather grubby, run down and past its prime, but it is still very useful to me.

A catch-up layout incorporating four prompts: 160: Vintage, 161: Frayed, 162: Neglected, 163: Aged.

I've been visiting my mum and helping her clear out some items from her outhouse.  One of them was an old trunk, which unfortunately is now full of woodworm and needed to go out before it spread any further.  However, it had some great labels dated 1952 so, of course, I took some pictures.  I didn't realise that Suzie would be so kind as to come up with the perfect prompts!

I love the grungy look, I chose a photograph of an old Lister two stroke engine which we had on the farm for  many years but sold on to someone who would renovate it and return it to it's former glory.  The layout was inspired by a layout by Emy Buxton in Scrap 365, May 2012.

Today's prompt is 'Flag'.  I didn't really think I was going to have any chance of seeing a flag today so I have used a photo from our holiday in Tuscany a couple of years ago.

That's me caught up again, Wednesday's prompt was Entrance and this is the door of our 'cart shed' or garage, I love how old and shabby the door is with the huge borads and peeling paint.
