Bargain - 356+1

Chriscraps - Sweet Cupcake; Sketch - Kathy's Waffle Sketch File
This little cupcake book was a real bargain from the Book People.  My husband is always on the look out for cookery books I might like and picked this one up at a bargain price.

Messy - 365_1

The Artist in Me - Snickerdoodle Designs
The photograph is of the mess under a table in our bedroom.  We cleared out the bottom of the wardrobe and it seems to have moved to this spot and not moved.  I've covered the photo with digital paint splats, because I'm so disgusted by it.  Hopefully, when I'm on holiday next week I will be able to clear it away!

Tools - 365+1

Colies Corner - Let's Renovate
This was an easy one for me.  This tool rack is at the back door, full of screwdrivers.  Heaven help you if you take one out and use it and don't put it back in the right place!

Unfinished - 365+1

Sugarplum Paperie - Cherish, Jadyday - Bloomin

Okay, so it's not obviously unfinished.  However, breakfast on the patio (my favourite summer thing) has not yet begun, the orange juice is poured, the bacon rolls are on the plate, they are not finished so they are unfinished!  What a fabulous weekend of sunny summer days - more please.

Instant Garden - 365+1

Thalaris - The power of flowers for Digital Crea
Today's prompt was 'Cleanliness' - that really didn't inspire me on such a lovely outdoor sort of day.  I headed off to the garden centre this morning to get some bedding plants for my tubs and troughs.  When I opened the boot of my car 'Instant Garden' popped into my head and I knew I had my 365 photograph.

Boring - 365+1

I looked through the bookshelves for the most boring book I could find and Weed Biology and Control seemed to fit the bill!  I'm sure it is fascinating reading for someone, but I doubt it has been opened much in this house as you can see from the background photo which I took in our hay meadow last year. I really love all these meadow plants and don't consider them to be weeds at all.  They certainly make excellent hay.

Artifical and Soft - 365+1

Going out with a Bang - Maya de Groot
I was working late last night so didn't get my layout done.  The prompt was 'Artificial', I don't often eat crisps but love these ones with absolutely nothing artificial.

Paper Chouk77 for Digital Crea, Kate Hadfield - Family Tree
Today's prompt is 'Soft'.  I love the beech leaves when they first unfurl and have a little soft, fuzzy edge.

Artifical

Ornament - 365+1

DSD by Athena - Home
We don't have many ornaments, I'm not a big fan of dusting!  However, we both love this 'ornament' of a saxophone which I gave my husband last year.

Portrait of a Sranger - 365+1

Various kits from Digital Crea
Portrait of a Stranger - that one made me think!  I couldn't see how I was going to get a photograph of a stranger, so decided to show you this photo of a passionflower that I took at the weekend, it is a stranger to the UK and within the definition.

Faceless Portrait - 365+1

Sit Back and Relax - a Digital Crea Collaboration
Today's prompt: It could be a self portrait or a portrait of someone else ... but snap things that make them 'them' ... those things you see that make you go "OH! That is so {insert name here}!"

This portrait is of my husband and his slippers, which somehow never seem to be on his feet!  He is always wondering where they are and, inevitably, they are under a table somewhere.

Portraits - 365+1

Studio MGL - Awakening
Another catch-up layout today.  Hoping to be back on track this week as I have no overnights away with work and am not expecting any more visitors.

The prompts for these photos are:
#132 - Unforgetable, I've chosen a photo taken on the river cruise we took from Moscow to St Petersburgh, definitely unforgetable.
#133 - Self-portrait, well not quite (cheating again), my husband took this one yesterday at Threave Gardens.
#134 - Portrait of a woman, my Mum painted this stylised portrait of me from a photograph taken by my Dad, I was 16 at the time.  Mum offered me the painting, but I really didn't want a portait of me looking back at me everday, so it stays in her house!

365 Catch Up

Template - Jessica Sprague, Blue paper - Ellie Lash, all other papers and elements - For Melissa collab from Scrapbookgraphics

It's been a busy time for me with visitors, going up to Edinburgh for a cupcake decorating course and away overnight for a work related meeting.  All of this has meant I have fallen behind with my 365+1.  As I am also going to have a visitor this weekend, I really needed to catch up!  So it's three in one, the journalling on the layout tells you about the photographs.

Woven - 365+1

Thaliris - I'm Like a Bird

Bumpy - 365+1

Kate Hadfield - Deck the Halls, Digital Crea Collab - Sit Back and Relax
As soon as I saw the prompt 'Bumpy' for Suzie's 365+1 challenge I knew I had to include my Dad in my layout.  Bumpy was the name my son called his Grandpa when he first started to speak, it stuck and he was Bumpy right up until both boys became too self-conscious in their mid-teens and started to call both my parents by their own names.  My Dad is no longer with us but that single word brings him back to me.

Future - 365+1

Julie Marie - Bailey,  MandyMade - cardstock, Connie Prince - Spring is my thing, Sketch inspiration - Morag Cutts, Scrap 365, May 2012
I was struggling to think what to have for the prompt 'future'.  In the end I took a photo of the river cruise we have booked in the south of France for next year - in the future!

Grunge - 365+1

Sherwood Studio - Thrift, Maya de Groot -Green House Alpha, Designs by Mozz - Forever, Snickerdoodle Designs - Outside my Window
I love the grungy look, I chose a photograph of an old Lister two stroke engine which we had on the farm for  many years but sold on to someone who would renovate it and return it to it's former glory.  The layout was inspired by a layout by Emy Buxton in Scrap 365, May 2012.
