A collection of 365+1 layouts

Ellie Lash - Bo Peep
I cannot claim that I took these photographs on the day concerned, life has been rather too busy so I  instead I noted down the prompts and went out with my camera today to find some appropriate subjects for the various titles.  I just loved the expressions on the faces of these sheep, and so many different breeds with very different shapes and looks.  They stood still and looked at me and I just thought 'still life' summed them up!

Sunshine Studio - Sweet Afternoon
Autumn is the time for chrysanthymums, there are many different types, these are the simple daisy type which my mother-in-law has grown  in a little raised bed.  Perfect for Above and Below photographs.

Shabby Princess - Seasonal Sampler
Not a very inspiring photograph, but this is the view from our kitchen window as we look up the farm yard and I know that  some of you have said that you are interested in seeing where I live.  The original building is the 'pig house', at one time it would have been open on the left hand side but my father-in-law converted these buildings to house calves and added the breize blocks and roof.  It is definitely not symmetrical, we no longer keep calves in these buildings they are pretty much redundant.

Bisontine - Vintage Butterflies
You can just about see the Monument on Almagill hill to the huntsman Joe Graham, it's a local landmark we can see from our home.  It's a triangular monument and I have walked up to it just once, which seems rather pathetic, but is probably pretty typical, we never visit the landmarks that are closest to us!

Ellie Lash - Bo Peep
Yes, it's those sheep again!  Looking out over the Annan Valley, with the river winding through it's centre.

365 Catch Up

Template - Jessica Sprague, Blue paper - Ellie Lash, all other papers and elements - For Melissa collab from Scrapbookgraphics

It's been a busy time for me with visitors, going up to Edinburgh for a cupcake decorating course and away overnight for a work related meeting.  All of this has meant I have fallen behind with my 365+1.  As I am also going to have a visitor this weekend, I really needed to catch up!  So it's three in one, the journalling on the layout tells you about the photographs.

Plants - 365+1

Template: By Sine SOWays 03, Gingerscraps - Scrap your Life, Ellie Lash - Flower Shop
Looking back over the posts so far this month, I see that I am a little obsessed with Spring!  Maybe it is because I live in Scotland and it takes much longer for spring to come here. Also out in the country, where there is less shelter, the daffodils have only started to flower this week.  More of a traditional layout for today, using a template.

Many thanks for all the kind comments I have received recently, I really do appreciate them.

Christmas Journal

I was having difficulty working out how to get all these pictures onto one page. A quick visit to Page Maps and I was sorted. Not that they had anything quite like this, but just looking at those skethes gave me enough ideas to work out how to fit them in!

Papers are 3 Bugs in a Rug 'Oh what fun'
LIttle stickers came from Accessorise last Christmas
Title letters are from a digi alpha by Ellie Lash which I printed and cut out.

On the 13th Day of Christmas...

Of course, I know that it's not the 13th day of Christmas as the countdown doesn't start till Christmas! However, it kind of starts today at our house as, every year we have my DH's cousins over before Christmas for a lunch of cold ham and turkey, salads and roast potatoes followed by lots of lovely dessert. Today was the day and it co-incides nicely with this week's challenge over on Bubbly Scrumptious Challenge Blog which The Food of Christmas.

I've created an LO showing my dining table before everyone arrived and some pictures of some of the food we ate, with apologies to my veggie friends.

Best Friends and a Lovely Lady

I missed out on doing the Soartful Challenge last week what with being away in Newcastle and then away to London during the week. So I'm playing catch up!

This image of 'Man's Best Friend' was last week's challenge.
I thought I would combine Man's best friend with A Girl's best friend - those lovely rocks!
Digital papers and elements by Digitreats, Ellie Lash and Pineapple Plantation Designs.

This week the title is 'Lovely' and we have this pretty lady to work with.

A bit of jiggery pokery with PSE and and we have this lady who is Lovely as a Rose.

Magic Mushrooms!

Ha ha! That got your attention didn't it? This is another of the monthly challenges at Digital Craft Cottage. I took the photograph on the same walk as the one with the tree for the Colour It challenge, I've been walking through the grounds at work for nearly 10 years and have never seen such huge toadstools, they look great. The page is Scrap Lifted from a Layout by Roxi Hardgreve and I used a whole heap of bits from different digital designers including Laura Boetto, Shauna Burke Smith and Ellie Lash. The font is Scrap Twiggy and I used a 'grass' brush to make the grasses at the front.

DCM Special for PostPals

Make a Child Smile
This week the DCM dare went as follows:

All I want you to do is make a card with sick children in mind.

It's best to avoid ‘Get Well’ cards and just aim to make something that is cheery and will bring a smile to a sick child’s face.

Now I can hear you saying….so, what make this such a ‘special’ dare?

Well, it’s special because this week we are very proud to be linking up with Post Pals, an organisation that was set up to create smiles for children who suffer from life threatening and long term illnesses.

As part of the dare, and the most important part at that, I would like you to actually post your card to one of the children listed on the Post Pals web site.

Anyone who knows me, knows I'm not a sentimental type, but reading the stories of the children on the website really got to me. I was hoping to make a card for each of the children featured, and if I get time this week, I will complete the job. Anyway, here are three to be going on with.

The Flower Fairy came from a freebie calendar from a craft mag, stamp is 'Stampin Up'. Sketch Kathy's Waffle Sketch File No 9.
The Boys Rule card is all papers and stickers from the Doodly Doo Boy kit by SEI. Sketch by Inspirational Card Sketches No. 20
The Charlie card uses some of the Doodly Doo papers and some digital elements by Ellie Lash from the 'On the Move' freebie, which I printed and cut out.

I'll get these posted off to the kids on Wednesday.

Artarazzi Challenge 20

Our guest designer this week is Femmy. She has chosen a wonderful image for you all, and provided a wonderful piece of work. The beautiful image is by Charles Joshua Chaplin and is called "Girl with a Nest" When I looked at this painting, my first thought was that it was so realistic it was like a photograph, then I wondered what else she could have in her hand...and what would she be doing if she was alive today?

So I took her clubbing!!!!

Art Creations Friday

No need to say that this is probably my favourite photograph of me and DH ever. When I saw the background provided for the Art Creations Friday Challenge, I thought immediately of this photo as the colours blend perfectly. I've altered it with the Scrapbookgraphics collaboration kit 'For Melissa' including elements from Flergs, Ellie Lash and Nicole Seitler of Sugarplum Paperie.
