The View - August 2013

Although I haven't been keeping up with Lucky Snapping in 2013 very well.  I do try not to miss out on 'The View' at the beginning of every month.  After some of the best summer days we have had for the last three years, August has begun with some rather mixed weather. Torrential rain, humid air followed by spells of sunshine with a strong breeze.

My tubs and pots are in full flower now, the pink scabious has been excellent, with a long flowering season. The perlagonium has finally bloomed with two tone flowers and the mixed tubs are overflowing with colour.  My herbs have also flourished.

I am hoping we get a few more weeks of warm weather to warm our bones and top up the vitamin D levels to get us through the winter.  This summer has made me realise just how much I have missed warm summer days and just how good they make me feel.

Summer is here!

Summer took a little longer to come to Scotland, but today was a beautiful warm day and we were able to sit outside until 8pm.  Lynne was asking me about my planters and really a week has made a phenomenal difference, here are a few photos to show you.

I believe we are to have more glorious weather for the rest of the week and maybe even into next weekend.  Enjoy!

Instant Garden - 365+1

Thalaris - The power of flowers for Digital Crea
Today's prompt was 'Cleanliness' - that really didn't inspire me on such a lovely outdoor sort of day.  I headed off to the garden centre this morning to get some bedding plants for my tubs and troughs.  When I opened the boot of my car 'Instant Garden' popped into my head and I knew I had my 365 photograph.

Spring Flowers - 365+1

Kalina - Esprit Poudre, Coppercurls - Photomask 204
I've gone off topic today, just couldn't come up with anything for the prompt 'arranged' so rather than not post, I've used a photo I took last week of the primroses.

Mother's Day

I know I am a wee bit early but Mother's Day came early in our house. In a reverse of the normal circumstances, my MIL bought me some flowers on Friday and DS1 gave me some more today as he wont be here tomorrow, so I have a lovely big vase of flowers.

I gave my MIL her card and present tonight as she is going off to early church tomorrow and then on to visit a relative who is in a nursing home. Here is her card:
