DCM - Old Macdonald's Farm

Now onto this week and its Vanessa here to set the dare. I don’t know why I came up with this one, but for some reason I’ve been singing away to Old MacDonald, you know the song “Old MacDonald had a farm, Ee I ee I oh! And on that farm he had some .........”

A bit of a challenge that a 'Farmersgirl' couldn't resist and this is the very stamp for this dare, I bought it on ebay and it doesn't have any distinguishing marks on it so I don't know whose it is. Stamped and watercoloured and a bit of simple matting and layering topped off with a ribbon. I haven't added a greeting as I'm not sure what I'm going to use it for!

For Today...

Outside my window... grey skies and rain

I am thinking... about getting round to tidying up my crafting corner!

I am thankful for... the May Day holiday as I am home instead of working

From the kitchen... Spicy Spinach Crepes (one of the recipes from Claire Macdonald's demo)

I am wearing... my 'coat of many colours' a little zip up, hooded sweatshirt I bought in Cambria, California, it has loads of different colours in it and always cheers me up.

I am reading... The Other Queen by Phillipa Gregory, I was beginning to think I would have to abandon it as the first 50 pages were very dull, but I think it is starting to get going now.

I am hoping... to do some crafting today

I am creating...a birthday book and it is nearly finished, only the birthdays to write in, then I will give it to DS1, so he doesn't have an excuse for forgetting everyone's birthday!

Around the house... lots of paperwork, the end of year accounts have to be in to the accountant, not a favourite job.

One of my favorite things... hugs

A few plans for the rest of the week... mainly meetings at work, hope to get to my Pilates class this week

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

Digtialartquirks - Four Self Portraits

The challenge on Digitalartquirks was to create four, ever more quirky, self portraits. Here is my attempt.

Artarazzi Challenge 21 - Swing Sister Swing

This painting called 'Spring Flowers' is the challenge on Artarazzi this week. It may be just because I hear the saxophone played every day, but somehow I just felt that this lady should be holding one - that's pretty much all I've done to her, but it was fun.

Show and Tell Friday - Through the Hedge

I was out last evening taking photographs and caught this blue sky through the hedgerow. I love our hedgerow, it is full of ferns, nettles, brambles and honeysuckle, a real old fashioned hawthorn hedge, only slightly tamed, always trying to 'go wild'.
