Signs of Spring

Snowdrops
I took these photographs last weekend, but didn't get them blogged, so thought I'd put them on now, as spring is definitely coming and things are changing daily.
Daffodil Shoots

The daffodils are already a little taller and the heads beginning to show.

First Rhubarb Shoot
There are now about 7 or 8 little shoots on the rhubarb.

Artful Bags - Monet Box Bag

It's time for the  Febraury Artful Bag Challenge! at Frosted Petunias Blog
Our second theme is Alter It. The objective is to take any object that is NOT a bag and turn it into one. Boxes, pudding cups, bottles, mint tins, plaques...anything you can think of. The finished product can be decorative or functional but should clearly look like a bag.

I had a look around to see what I could find to alter and came across a few egg boxes.  I left the bottom of the box as it was so the origin of my little box bag was obvious.

I put a little 'jewel' on the 'clasp'

I painted it with Gesso then Dylusions acrylic paints and sprayed with Dylusions Ink sprays.

When I had finished painting I realised that it reminded me of the colours of a Monet Water Lily painting (a style I like very much), so I added the large flowers to represent the waterlilies and a variety of beads for the handle.

How cute am I?

We had a delivery of calves last Sunday, this weekend was the first chance I had to take some photographs.  Mr Cutie above is a Charolais cross (all crossed with dairy cows) which is what gives him is lovely pale coat.
This one is a British Blue cross (they used to be called Belgian Blues), not so cute but looking bright.  He was tucking into some nice hay when I disturbed him.

It's Sunday again - time for The Sunday Creative

Definition…noun; tender attachment

I haven't shared this on my blog yet, maybe I wanted to hug my news to myself for a little longer.  Or maybe it is because this news does not just affect me.  However, as soon as I saw the prompt for this week's Sunday Creative I knew that it was time to share my new grandson with the world!

Welcome Travis

Perspective

Time for the Sunday Creative again. This week the prompt is Perspective.

somewhat easier than last week's prompt as I have lots of photographs showing perspective, so I decided to play around with this one, make it black and white and use an artistic filter.
