Texture 365+1

DSD by Athena - Home
I love my cushions, the red one has a lovely watered silk texture and the cream one has textured embroidery.  I used the mosaic texture in Photoshop Elements on the photo to create some additional texture in the background.

Sunflower - 365+1

Lovely Poppies - A Digital Crea Collab
It's a free choice day today, so no prompt.  The weather has not been kind to us today, but a couple of days ago it was sunny and I am glad now that I took some photographs of my MIL's sunflower.  It was at it's peak and the bees obviously thought so too.

Edible - 365+1

Marta Designs - Easter in the Kitchen
I know, this is a rather bizarre layout!  I visited a Venison Farm today and tasted some delicious venison sausages.  I must be feeling a little surreal as this kit just tempted me to include some 'interesting' objects!

Purple - 365+1

Designs by Mozz - Mulberry Crush
I'm having a nice day at home, the weather isn't great so inside is the best place to be.  I took the photo two weekends ago when we had some sunshine and my tubs were looking good.

Here are some of the lovely handmade birthday cards I received from my dear friends at Bubbly Funk Forum.  Back row: L-R Hazel, Paddy, Nicky, Kaz, Gez, Tracey, Sue. Front Row: Tracy and Wendy.  Many thanks to them all for the beautiful cards.

And here is the White Chocolate and Strawberry Cream Cake I made for my birthday cake - best way to get the cake you would like is to make it yourself!

365+1 Catch up

Hello fellow 365(+1)ers!  It's hard work doing this challenge when you have holidays and visitors.  I'm catching up after a few days so please bear with me.

For SQUARE I have chosen one of my food blog photos, the flapjacks are not exactly square but the plate is!

TRIANGULAR- a visit to the harbour at Kirkcudbright revealed some triangles on the fishing boats and in the lines between the cranes and the quay side.

Another photo from Kirkcudbright, Maclellan's Castle is featuring Rapunzel and her hair hanging STRAIGHT down from the castle window.
I'm gradually moving away from the Olympics (Paralympics next - ha ha) but the prompt STAR made me think immediately of Team GB and Mo Farah in particular.

This was a challenging prompt, I took this sunset a couple of days ago as it reflected off the flood water in the field.  The patterns in the sky and on the water are IRREGULAR.

So I've caught up now and, although I know I have a few days I'll have to miss, I will be sticking to the programme.  Next I'll have to catch up with all of the other blogs!

Circular - 365+1

Aimee Harrison - Apple Day, Maya de Groot - Snap
This is the dessert we had, it's simply apples stewed gently in orange juice with raisins and cloves.  I cut some of the apples as 'cored' slices, they are circular as is the glass from above.

I may not get many layouts done over the next few days as I have visitors, will catch up at the end of the week.

Curves - 365+1

Chris Greiser - So Inspired
I haven't had much time to take photos this week, so am still relying on my Olympic telly photos. Good one for curves though, the stadium on the closing night.

Two Layouts for 365+1

Gingerscraps - Scrap Your Life

DSD by Athena - Elegance
I'm hoping to move on from the Olympics soon, but took loads of photos of the closing ceremony so there may still be a few to come!  I didn't see any exhausted athletes last night, so chose one of Jessica Ennis at the end of her race.

The second layout is the last medal awarded for the men's marathon , I loved the flags lined up behind them , all the medals are represented here, even though the prompt is Silver.

GOLD - 365+1

Digital Crea Collab - I'm like a bird
Just when you thought I'd be posting some gold medals from the Olympics...well I like to keep you on your toes!  It was a glorious day today and the flowers had a chance to open and smile.  I love the gold of the marigolds, they are easy flowers to grow and self-seed too, but still they open their daisy like petals with a big warm glow like the sun.

Connie Prince - My Wish for You
But I couldn't resist a bit of speed-scrapping to celebrate Mo Farah's second Gold Medal, how exciting was that?  Fantastic athlete, incredible race, well deserved - GOLD!

Higher - 365+1

Independence Day - Lisa Bowman
The USA women's 100m x 4 Relay Team broke the World Record, definitely Higher, Faster, Stronger!

Hope - 365+1

I know my layouts have been a bit Olympic-obsessed but that is how I am feeling at the moment.  Thinking about hope took me right back to the opening ceremony and how it built up the excitement and anticipation of what might be to come, but as someone who NEVER watches sport, I have become totally absorbed and enjoyed pretty much everything I've watched.  I'm still slightly surprised with myself!

Chouk77 - My Funny City
Andy Murray's mum, Judy, with a look of relief as Andy wins a Gold medal in the Men's Tennis singles.

Frustration - 365+1

The Olympics are the ideal place to find frustration!  I only switched on this afternoon and watched a few minutes of the gymnastics to find poor Victoria Komova make a basic error on the uneven bars.  Her face says it all!

Well done to Beth Tweddle on her bronze medal!

Happiness - 365+1

Super Saturday was all about Team GB getting Gold Medals,  the one that gave me most happiness was to see Jessica Ennis win the Women's Heptathlon, what an amazing athlete to excel at so many sports.

I've just seen Andy Murray win the Gold for the Men's singles and am thrilled for him too, but there was something about the stadium last night that was really magic.

Angry - 365+1

Sherwood Studios - Thrift
It was a warm day today, but by 2pm the clouds were gathering and we had some dramatic thunder and lightning, followed by torrential rain.  We had just been out for a walk with my son & dil's labrador, so were lucky we got back in time.  We were dog sitting as they had gone to the local agricultural show, I got a phone call at tea time to say they had got soaked and were drying off at dil's parents house, could we feed the dog as well.

As I know that Anne, in particular, is partial to a dog or two, here are some pics of Muffin on our walk.

Joy - 365+1

DSD by Athena - Free Spirit
Victoria Pendleton wins her Olympic Gold in the Keirin.  Great joy for her victory.

Point - 365+1

Jen Reed - A Quiet Place
More Olympic photographs.  I love watching the swimming and Claire Balding has been brilliant as the anchor for BBC poolside.  I saw the women's backstroke and they were pointing their hands, grabbed the camera and manged to catch a few shots.
